 PONO Hawaiian Grill and Poke Bar is located on 120 Union St Santa Cruz CA. Its got a great Tikki vibe with an enclosed outdoor seating area. The food is fantastic with authentic Hawaiian BBQ and over 7 different types of poke. They also have live music on select days of the week.  MOTIV on Pacific Ave Santa Cruz CA is both a restaurant and a nightclub. Local art hangs from the walls and they periodically show sporting events. Every once in awhile for paid events they will lower a huge projection screen and bring out the couches fora real living room events feel. Frequented by local and well-known Djs, Motiv has become a hot spot for UCSC students and teachers alike. The drinks are splendid as well as the food and every Sunday night is dedicated to reggae music, so definitely cruz by if your strolling down Pacific Ave, and don't forget to visit upstairs for a mellower vibe and really talented bartenders!
 Cafe Mare is an authentic Italian restaurant in Santa Cruz CA. They offer a very traditional and simple menu, as well as wine and cheese pairings on Thursdays at 5:30. Tuesday through Thursday they have live jazz, blues, or Latin guitar, and Thursday through Saturday they are open late for Djs and dancing (Friday is their very popular reggae night.) Cafe Mare is also known for banquets or events and one can even make a reservation online. So if you know you will be in the area, setup your reservation ahead of time experience this little piece of Italy.
